Established in 1980 Founder Muriel “Bonnie” Scott-Ward saw a need for a nail service that would educate consumers as well as make them feel great about their appearance. Thus, Nails By Bonnie was born. During the salon’s early years, it was prominently situated in the picture window of a popular barbershop on Chicago’s West Side.  Curious passersby couldn’t help but stop and watch Bonnie masterfully care for weathered hands and weary feet. Eventually many of the gawkers would themselves become clients.

In 1982, Nails By Bonnie relocated to the bustling Loop area of Downtown Chicago. Just blocks away from iconic department stores Carson Pirie Scott and Marshall Fields, the nail salon gained a new following among  the Windy City’s savvy business professionals.

By the mid 1990′s, Nails By Bonnie returned to familiar grounds on Chicago’s West Side where it continued to operate until moving to its current Naperville, Illinois location in 2007.
